Free financial aid workshop held at Virginia Western Community College

Students across the Roanoke Valley got the 411 on financial aid today.

A Super Saturday workshop was held at Virginia Western Community College.

The goal of the event is to offer one-on-one assistance with the free application for Federal Student Aid.

College officials say the event is a great way to help families with the financial aid process.


"Well It's a great opportunity because we have representatives from other schools, from Virginia Tech and Jefferson College of Health Sciences, financial aid experts here to help students and families complete the financial aid form," said Chad Sartini, Coordinator of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs

Virginia Western is Roanoke's only Super Saturday site.

Students who attended the event also had the chance to win a one hundred dollar book scholarship.
