Thanksgiving is next week, and the Roanoke Regional Airport wants to warn travelers heading home for the holidays.
This Friday and the Sunday after Thanksgiving are the busiest days at Roanoke Regional Airport.
Area college and university students will leave for their break on Friday adding to the congestion.
The airport is reminding everyone to arrive at the airport at least two-hours in advance because flight are oversold and not everyone will get a seat.
"This Friday and the Sunday after Thanksgiving the flights are oversold and there are going to be lines. No matter how efficient TSA and airlines can be, they'll have every staff member working, there will still be a lot of people," explains Sherry Wallace of the Roanoke Regional Airport.
Also remember, any liquid you take in your carry-on has to be in a 3-ounce or less container and fit in a one-quart ziplock bag.
The airport is also reminding passengers to wear easy to remove shoes and don't wrap any airplane-bound presents, TSA will unwrap them to search them.
