The Roanoke County community is reaching out to help a high school student who has cancer.
Kendall Bayne and some of her supporters gathered at the Roanoke Athletic Club for a Raquetball tournament. People bought tickets to play and prizes were given out to the winners.
Afterwards, Kendall enjoyed a piece of cake with her father and friends.
Kendall Bayne "It means so much to me," Kendall begins. "It's like no one can understand until they really go through it, how much it'll actually mean, just meeting all the new people and how many people are really trying to support me and just help me out, it keeps me going and really helps a lot."
Kendall was full of smiles as she talked about the help she's received from both friends and family.
Next week, she'll return to Duke to have stiches in her lungs removed.
