The Galax Police Department is giving the Galax High School boy's basketball team a big welcome home from Richmond Friday night.
Galax took on Amelia County in the Division 1 Boys title game in Richmond Friday, coming away with a 66 to 49 win.
The Galax Fire Department along with the Galax Police Department has announced on its Facebook page it'll escort the team and its cheerleaders home Friday night. The escort will start at Interstate 77 and stop briefly at Main Street to allow the players and cheerleaders to jump on a trailer for a celebratory ride through town.
