Glen Lyn Mayor Thomas "Rick" Ould remains a prisoner at the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon.
He was denied bond again Wednesday during a hearing in which a prosecutor said Ould is accused of firing a handgun into the air three times and putting that gun to the head of his wife, during a domestic dispute January 29.
An investigation, according to special prosecutor Mike Fleenor, shows that Ould threatened to shoot his wife Carol, as she tried to leave their home last month.
Ould is charged with the reckless use of a firearm, and domestic assault against his wife. Those charges are misdemeanors.
Ould was arrested last week. On Wednesday morning he was denied bond for the second time since his arrest.
Ould's lawyer told the judge that his client likely has some mental health issues, and that his siblings had arranged for him to go to an unsecured hospital facility. The judge said no.
A restraining order has been issued, meaning Ould cannot make any type of contact with his wife. A trial is set for February 25th.
