Green market offers locally grown, organic food in Lynchburg

If you're looking to eat healthier this summer, Lynchburg is giving you a way to fill your craving.

For the fifth year in a row, the Lynchburg Community Market is hosting "Green Market Wednesdays."

Low-spray plants and vegetables, and certified organic foods are the featured products.  Vendors only sell what they've actually grown themselves, and all of the food comes from local farms.

"I love getting food from the farm," said Debra Dalton, a Lynchburg-area resident who shops at the community market often.

"I used to grow my own stuff, but I can't do gardening anymore, so I try to come and get the freshest products I can get," Dalton said.

The green market runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., every Wednesday until early November.
