He'll be home for Christmas! It was a happy homecoming at Roanoke Regional airport this afternoon as a member of the U.S. Army touched down. Private Paul Bryant just completed basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He'll return for advanced infantry training. But for now, he'll concentrate on tasty holiday meals and spending quality time with his famimly.
Private Bryant says he'll be stationed at Fort Drum, New York next and will be ready to deploy as needed.
Karen West says this is the longest amount of time she's been separated from her son so she is looking forward to a special holiday. “Sharing your love and your memories and making new memories...it's just special when you sit there by the light of the tree,” said West.
