The Martinsville Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) needs your help.
Last year, the Howl-O-Ween Extravaganza raised over $5,000, all of which was spent on the spay/neuter program, allowing to spay or neuter over 2,400 animals in 2011.
As a result of this program, over 80% of the homeless animals taken in by the SPCA, the city, and county pounds found a home!
New this year, on October 6, there will be the Howl-O-Ween Frightmare haunted house during Uptown Martinsville's Oktoberfest.
There will be PG showings for children (including trick-or-treating) and rated R showings for adults.
Oktoberfest is a family fun event that brings a large crowd to Uptown Martinsville.
The Howl-O-Ween haunted house will be located at 20 East Church Street in Martinsville.
Doors open at 11 a.m.
The cost is $5 for kids and $2 for parents to go inside with their children.
The R rated showings for adults will be $7.
After 4 p.m. there will also be a “Loose Canon” show. It’s the biggest scare of the night and admission is $8.
