High heels help some high hopes

High heels for high ideals...

Men and women strutted their stuff in their favorite high heels.

(Yes, men too!)

It was for the Sun Trust High Heel Charity Race on Roanoke's city market.

Men had to run 75-yards- which was a little tougher for some rather than others!

The women, who are a little more practiced in the heels, had to run 150 yards.

"We've had a great turnout. I'm hoping we had about 100-people down here right now, so we're thrilled. All the money goes to Apple Ridge Farms send a kid to camp mission that we have been doing for 24-years. 19 We've sent over 68-thousand kids to camp in all these years," explains Development Director Janice Dunleavy.

Your Hometown News Leader was a sponsor of the event- Kimberly McBroom and Brent Watts emceed the race.
