It will be all Altavista on Friday in Richmond.

The Altavista girls and boys basketball teams will play for state championships in Richmond on Friday.

The girls knocked off Clintwood 58-46 on Friday, and will play East Rockingham at 2 p.m. Friday for D1 crown.

Altavista trailed by a point at halftime, and was down 37-36 to start the third quarter. Altavista went 42-of-55 from the free throw line. The game featured a total of 80 free throw attempts and 54 turnovers.

ALTAVISTA BOYS

The Altavista boys basketball will play for the state championship Friday.

Altavista knocked of J.I. Burton 47-26 in the Division 1 state semifinals Thursday in Richmond.

Altavista led 37-19 after three quarters.

Altavista will take on Thursday’s Parry McCluer-West Point winner. Tipoff for Friday’s championship game is scheduled for a 3:45 p.m. start.

RADFORD BOYS

Coach Rick Cormany wasn't exactly thrilled with the way his Bobcats team played against Essex in the Division Two Semis, but Radford won it 54 to 40 to advance to face Gate City in the finals Saturday at 5pm.  Freshman Marcus Finley scored 16 points for Radford.

PARRY MCCLUER BOYS

Parry McCluer put up a fight against West Point but ultimately came up short in the Divsion One Semifinals.  The Fighting Blues fell 62 to 53, despite 13 points from Sam Armstrong.  Nelson Fox's team was hurt by 22 turnovers in the game.
