ROANOKE CO., Va.
Title IX is commemorating 40-years.
The legislation helped even the play fields when it came to women's sports.
Now, Hollins University is one of 25-schools across the country that is celebrating that anniversary by competing in a contect honoring Title IX trailblazers.
One of them Lanette Ware joined Hollins as a gym teacher in the 60s.
She dedicated more than 40-years of her life to equality in sports.
The video with the most views wins 9-thousand dollars from the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators.
"We had a sports psychologist come in earlier this year. We could have more things like that, just any way we could enhance their experience here on Hollins as students first and then as athletes is going to help us a ton," explains Assistant Athletic Director Sarah Otey.
You can view the video now through the morning of Monday the 23rd.
Hollins is competing against some heavy hitters like Dartmouth, Auburn and UCLA.
