Stand Down for Homeless Veterans offers free services to veterans all over the United States

Stand Down for Homeless Veterans takes place at the Salem Civic Center at 1001 Roanoke Boulevard in Salem.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It is sponsored by The Salem Virginia Medical Center, Roanoke Valley Veterans Council, The Virginia Employment Commision and the Western Virginia Workforce Development Board.

Homeless Veterans were given free haircuts, health screenings, food, clothing, hygiene kits, shoes, tax and legal counseling and even the opportunity to fill out job applications.
