There were 900-tickets to give away and hundreds of people braved the rain to stake their claim.

The line for the annual Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic snaked around the Advance Auto at Crossroads Plaza early Saturday morning.

Everybody in the line was hoping to get a ticket to the free clinic held next weekend.

The very first person in line, didn't want to go on camera, but told WDBJ7 she had been there since 10:30 Friday morning!

Most of the people in line say they need to see a dentist, but can't afford it.

"(Been out here) Since 6 o'clock yesterday afternoon," says Roanoke resident Hugh Murray. "I have to get some dental work done. I have to get my teeth cleaned and a couple cavities filled."

Reico Jordan can relate, "This is the place where you can come to have your teeth cleaned and get everything fixed, then why not get you a ticket?"

Seconds Jessica Fullen,"If you don't have insurance, then why not?

This is the 5th year for the clinic.

It will take place next Friday and Saturday with the help of more than 80-volunteer dentists and hundreds of other volunteers.
