Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell enlisted the help of another popular Republican to push his education reforms.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal joined McDonnell at a news conference Friday morning in Richmond. Jindal said education reforms that have worked in Louisiana could improve schools here in Virginia.
"Every child in Virginia, every child in Louisiana, every child in America has a chance to get a great education," Jindal told reporters. "This is inherent, intrinsic to the American dream."
"An F school is not acceptable for any kid in Virginia," Governor Bob McDonnell added.
McDonnell's proposals include grading schools on a scale of A to F, and allowing the state to take over failing schools. Both have been implemented in Louisiana, and are now under consideration in the Virginia General Assembly.

How can anyone expect to increase teacher performance when they haven't had raises in up to 5 years in some cases, they now have to pay more into their retirement system, they have to teach children that have not been socialized, and are typically troublemakers that can't be punished, and they are all made to have to beg their supervisors or council members to allocate enough money to operate their schools on. If you're gonna educate the kids, then you have to pay the piper, and that means raising property taxes even though you told your Norquist pimp that you wouldn't. Either pay up, or expect more dummying down of our school systems.
What an endorsement. Pathetic!
