An organization dedicated to religious freedom is lending its support to a major fast food chain.
Liberty Counsel released a statement today saying the group stands behind Chick-fil-A's president's recent statement about gay marriage.
During an interview last week, the company's president said that people shouldn't try to define what God considers marriage.
Since then, government officials from three cities said they would ban Chick-fil-A from opening restaurants.
Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver is calling the proposed bans "outrageous".
He says that any city trying to ban Chick-fil-A would not win the battle.
