A talented musician and High School senior in Giles County is raising tuition money to attend a prestigious and expensive college across the pond.

"Miriam asked for her first cello when she was two years and two months old.  We moved to Eggleston when she was four and she's lived here ever since," said Lisa Liske-Doorandish.

"Never really seen anybody or hear the cello.  I don't really listen to that type but it sounds really good.  See I couldn't do that!" said Miriam Liske-Doorandish.

The music conservatory, the Royal College of Music in London, is one of the world's great music schools.

"This is a really amazing opportunity, it's sort of what I've always dreamed of I've always wanted to go to Europe so now I'm trying to make that happen," said Miriam.

Miriam has set up a website in order to try to raise money for her tuition

"Really hope to avoid debt.  I could take out a bunch of loans like most people my age but especially right now I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible.  Since I do have some resources at hand  like I can play, I do have some skills.  I can make jewlery and paint.  I figure I'll just take that as far as I can," she said.

"It's also humbling, I'd love to write a check to the Royal Conservatory and just cover it so that she's able to do that with such graciousness is a beautiful thing as well," said Lisa.

Miriam has raised half of what she needs but needs another $10,000 by the middle of April.
