Tomorrow will be the first day kids return to school following that shooting. Kids across the country and here at home could feel some fear and anxiety about heading back to class. A local psychiatrist says it's OK to experience those emotions but getting back to a normal routine is crucial.

We spoke with Dr. Tom Milam. “I would not try to keep a child home because of your own fear for your child or that child's fear--it's OK to go with them, to walk them to school, perhaps even walk them to their class  and let them get settled,” he said.

Dr. Milam  says it's also important for parents to remember to be strong when talking about this tragedy with their kids. They often take cues from adults on how to act and feel.
