Schools in and around Lynchburg are cooperating to make Kindergarten registration easy for parents.
Lynchburg, along with Bedford, Campbell, and Appomattox County schools will all hold their Kindergarten registration on April 17. This will be the first time the school districts have offered this service on the same day.
The effort is bring coordinated by Smart Beginnings Central Virginia.
"By having one common date, it really simplifies things for our families in Central Virginia," said Karen Wesley, Director of Smart Beginnings Central Virginia. "It also gives them time to make sure, when they bring their children to Kindergarten on day one, they've got everything they need and everything is in place."
Kindergarten registration in Amherst County will happen a week later on April 24 and 25. Their schedule was already set when this year's regional date was formed, but they plan to be part of the effort next year.
