Lynchburg leaders consider curbing tobacco use at public parks

Smoking could soon be banned in some of Lynchburg's public parks.

The city's parks and recreation department is trying to figure out if it's feasible to make certain parks tobacco free.

Places like the Miller Park pool, the Riverside Park sprayground, and several community centers have already banned tobacco use.

In the next few weeks, interns with the Lynchburg Health Department are going to conduct surveys on this topic.
