"Once I start something I like to complete it," said Ferguson.  "I just try to do the best I can.  I've always said, if I can walk, I'm coming to work."

Ferguson delivered mail on foot until a few years ago, when he had to get both of his knees replaced.

The United States Postal Service presented Ferguson with a certificate and 50-year pin Wednesday, recognizing his accomplishment.
