If you have an old teddy bear sitting around the house, why throw it in the trash can when you can toss it on ice?
That's what a Lynchburg group is hoping you'll do Friday night.
Gleaning for the World is holding a "teddy bar toss." Fans are asked to bring a new or "gently loved" stuffed animal to the Liberty University men's hockey game.
When the home team scores its first goal, the bears will be tossed onto the ice and collected.
Donations will go to the "Teddy Bear Brigade." They collect stuffed animals to comfort children in third world countries and disaster zones.
The LU hockey team is giving away a Playstation 3 to one lucky participant who brings a stuffed animal to Friday's event. Doors open at 6 pm and tickets for the game are $7.00. They can be purchased by contacting the LU ticket office, visiting www.LibertyFlames.com or at the door.
