A man is in jail following a New Year’s Day standoff in Lynchburg.
The incident began early Tuesday morning at a home on Wyndview Avenue. A woman called police saying that her boyfriend, Matthew Pearson, assaulted her inside the home and pulled out a gun.
Pearson and the victim came out of the home several hours later. The woman was not seriously hurt.
He has been charged with domestic assault and battery, brandishing a firearm, and two counts of abduction.
Pearson is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional without bond.
