Police are looking for information on the death of a Missouri man who recently visited Lynchburg and was found dead in a Tennessee river Thursday evening.
The man, identified as Lance Michael Larson, 29, reportedly visited Lynchburg in February. He is from O'Fallon, Missouri. According to a news release from the Blount County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee, Larson called his family to tell them he was leaving Lynchburg and headed back to Missouri around Feb. 20.
Investigators are looking for more information about where Larson was between Feb. 19 and Thursday evening, when his body was found.
They are also searching for Larson's vehicle, a tan 2003 Kia Spectra, 4-door, with a Missouri registration CF1S9R. It is not known why Larson was in Tennessee.
Larson's body was found in the Little River in Rockford, Tennessee, near Knoxville.
An autopsy was performed on Larson at the University of Tennessee Medical Center on Friday, but the cause of death is still under investigation.
