Author and poet Maya Agelou will speak at Randolph College Tuesday.

Angelou will present “An Evening with Maya Angelou” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29.

The event is free and open to the public. However, seating in Smith Hall Theatre is limited. Overflow viewing will be available.

She is expected to speak about her poetry, childhood memories, and provide insight in order to pave the way for future generations, according to Randolph College.

Angelou is 84.

She is perhaps best known for “I know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and for writing the screenplay for the film “Georgia, Georgia.”
