ROANOKE, Va.—
A minivan hit a power poll, a fire hydrant, and then a stone wall at 6th Street and Murray Avenue Southeast in Roanoke around 10:50 p.m. Thursday. The hydrant snapping off caused a river of water to flow down 6th Street for about 45 minutes. The city has since shut off the leak and cleaned up the wreck. The driver wasn't hurt.
