A mobile solutions company from Austin, Texas, is building a satellite office in Blacksburg, and creating 30 new jobs.
Atomic Axis announced Tuesday that its new satellite office will be located at TechPad in downtown Blacksburg.
Town officials say more businesses deciding to come into the community, is a strong sign.
"The entrepreneurs, the business startup people, they wanted the quality of life because they can work anywhere and I think that's why we're very successful especially in downtown Blacksburg," Blacksburg Mayor Ron Rordam said.
It will initially be focused on iOS development. The company says it anticipates creating 30 new jobs over the next three years.
"Establishing an office in Blacksburg is a strategic move for our company," Marcus Turner, CTO of Atomic Axis, wrote in a news release. "When deciding on a location, we found it to be a place where people want to live, collaborate with forward thinking institutions and contribute within a strong technical community. We believe that this is the ideal environment for our business.”
Atomic Axis was founded in 2011. The company focuses on mobile solutions for iOS, Android, Windows, and mobile web.
