Mobile planetarium visits Lynchburg school

Lynchburg students are seeing stars in a unique classroom.

The "Starlab" visited R.S. Payne Elementary School Tuesday.  Starlab is a portable planetarium that shows images of stars, constellations, and continents.

Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society takes the lab to different schools.  The program helps students learn math and science skills for their Standards of Learning test.

"It's good to reenforce what they're learning in the books, and go to see in an outside setting where they can see, point, touch, and look, other than just being in a book," said Scott Koebel, a Woodmen of the World member and Starlab presenter.
