The Salem Red Sox aren't monkeying around. They're serious about Friday and Saturday's entertainment.

It's a monkey rodeo put on by Team Ghost Rider. The 'monkey rodeo' is just what it sounds like.

It's a monkey dressed as a cowboy sitting in a saddle on a sheep dog. The monkey helped throw out the first pitch at tonight's Red Sox game. Later the pair herded animals in the outfield.

The Red Sox are constantly trying new acts to attract fans.

"You often have to think outside the box," says Allen Lawrence with the Salem Red Sox, "I mean that's what minor league baseball is all about."

Parents say it's good to have entertainment throughout the game because kids have a hard time sitting through nine innings.

"It's definitely something where at least at his age he's still trying to figure out the game so when he does start to you know linger and things like that it kinda keeps him engaged," says David Thomas who brought his son to Friday's game.
