The parents of a slain Virginia Tech student are marking three years since her remains were discovered in a farm field outside of Charlottesville.
Gil and Dan Harrington will mark the grim anniversary Saturday in Charlottesville, where Morgan Harrington was last seen after leaving a concert at the University of Virginia in October 2009. The Roanoke woman was 20.
The Harringtons say their commemoration is intended to remind the community that a killer remains at large.
Police have said Harrington became separated from friends after she left a Metallica concert the night of her disappearance.
She was last seen hitchhiking that night. Her T-shirt was found outside an apartment building near the Charlottesville auditorium, but a camera and a crystal necklace she had with her were missing.
