Ferrum College continues to plan for increasing enrollment.
And the school has launched a new construction project on the Franklin County campus.
This week, the heavy equipment was pushing dirt and preparing the site for Ferrum's newest residence hall.
The building will house 117 students, and help the school meet the demand for additional living space.
The new building will be similar to Clark Hall, located next door.
Like that project, the new dorm will be built by Mod-U-Kraf, of Rocky Mount.
It's scheduled to be completed by mid-August, in time to house students returning for the fall term.
