If you want younger viewers to tune in your broadcast you need to beef up your sports. Reporting on Va Tech all the time means you leave out a lot of local sports information. I found that I could get the scores for local schools on WSET. So I tune in there, especially  at 11:00.  At least run the scores  at the bottom of the screen, like WSET does.

Regarding your piece on the Cambria Suites 05-24-11- Why do you feel it necessary to malign a still new business that is in fact supporting employment in this dismal economy? The property taxes may well be an issue, but somehow I am certain the General Manager does NOT pay them! You may have damaged the reputation of a fine property in the community with your story- if you have questions for the investment group, take your cameras to THEM!

I would like to make your station aware that there is a fraud being perpetrated on local citizens.  I received a letter stating I had won a lottery and which had a cashiers check enclosed for $3700 which they wanted me to send $2700 to them!  I have taken the letter to my local bank, Stellar One in Christiansburg,  and they have determined that the bank involved is legitimate and the routing number is also legitimate.  However, the bank has notified their security department.  That bank stated they wanted me to notify my local authorities, which I have done.  The officer I spoke with said there was very little that could be done.  He will make a report to their fraud division and will forward to the FBI.  However, since most of these operations are originated in foreign countries where we have no authority, very little can be done.  I would like your station to make a brief announcement on the local 6 o'clock news so that others in my age group - 60+ - do not succumb to the fraud and lose $2700.

It is nice that we actually teach our kids right from wrong. I think we should talk more about the danger of the drug and the results that we are experiencing from this drug. Not picture  on how to make the drug or contents of it. Just to let people no it is hurting the communities.

The air show today was great! However, traffic and bus transportation to and from the airport was a total disaster today. After the show, people had to wait 1-2 hours in the hot sun amongst thousands of people trying to get thru the gate. Buses and emergency crews had dificulty getting thru the mobs of people. Folks were passing out and couldn't get help if they wanted to. Emergency vehicles were very busy. It was clear that there was little to no planning in dealing with all the people. While there was plenty of beverage vendors inside the gate, you couldn't buy a bottle of water anyway near the thousands of folks stranded, while trying to get to a buses. Buses after being loaded to go back to parking were stuck in the traffic around the pickup area and could barely move.
Surely the planners and poloice can do a better job than this.

I AM A VOLUNTEER EMT, AS WELL AS A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER. THE PEOPLE IN OUR ORGANIZATION DO WHAT WE DO BECAUSE WE LOVE HELPING, AND BETTERING OUR COMMUNITY. I RECENTLY ATTENDED THE  METH CLASS THAT THE VIRGINIA STATE POLICE DID IN THE ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS, AND TO BE QUITE FRANK, IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. TO COME TO THE REALIZATION OF WHAT MY PEERS AND I ARE WALKING INTO EVERYDAY, UNBEKNOWING, PUTS ME ON EDGE. THIS IS THE TIME WHEN OUR COMMUNITES NEED TO COME TOGETHER, AND FIGHT THIS GROWING EPIDEMIC. WE NEED TO HOLD MORE COMMUNITY AWARENESS, AND GET MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN RECOGNIZING, AND PROTECTING OUR FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND OVERALL; COMMUNITIES. THE STATE POLICE ARE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB IN BEGINNING AWARENESS ON THE NEW METHODS, AS WELL AS THE HISTORY OF THESE UNGODLY DRUGS. WE NEED TO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, COME TOGETHER, AND NOT LET UP.

Since the city has said that it will issue citations for those who do not mow their lawns, I was just wondering, will they be issuing citations to VDOT for not maintaining the grass in the median, or is this a city function?  In either case, the grass has gotten so tall along Electric Road that it is almost impossible to see oncoming traffic when trying to cross intersections not protected by a traffic signal. What is it going to take, a fatality to get the grass cut?

It really rubs me raw, that instead of going to bat for the people of Pulaski  and other hard hit tornado areas, by filing an immediate appeal with FEMA for help. Our so called Governor McDonnell has asked the people and business to aid these people by donations????LIke they already havent ...just to make it through these last couple of weeks..He's asking an already financial straped area before this diaster to basiscally help themselves..GET REAL!!! these people have lost everything they have, they have worked and paid taxes to the goverment all their working lives is it not time for the goverment to lend a hand??? How do you measure a family without a home in  one state with one in another state.... they are still homeless whereever they . With an attutide like this,is this really who we need to have our backs???
