A demolition crew is tearing down one of Lynchburg's oldest buildings.

The four-story "Miller Building" is being knocked down with the help of a crane. The old tobacco warehouse has stood along Dunbar Drive in downtown Lynchburg since the mid-1800's.

City officials deemed the building unsafe after a back wall collapsed January 30. The building has been vacant for many years, but originally served as a hospital during the Civil War.

The building's owners are still deciding what to do with the vacant property, once the demolition is complete.
