UPDATED: Connecticut man dead in Boones Mill area crash

State police have identified the man killed in a crash on Route 220 as Mack George Buster Junior. 

Troopers suspect Buster may have fallen asleep before his vehicle ran off the road.  The crash happened around 8:10 a.m.

Buster was 71 years old and was from Hartford, Connecticut.  There were three other people in the car who were taken to the hospital.  Emergency crews described their injuries as not life threatening.

At least one person was killed in a crash on U. S. Route 220 south of Boones Mill.  Rescue crews are still working to pull the vehicle back up the embankment.

Officials said at least one person was killed but would not confirm any additional details.  The crash scene is on the southbound side of the highway between Boones Mill and Wirtz.  Boones Mill Fire and Rescue, town police and state troopers are all on the scene.
