One person taken to hospital following Roanoke fire

One person was taken to the hospital after a fire in Roanoke Wednesday night.

The fire broke out around 6:15 p.m. on Chapman Avenue in the 1500 block.

The person who was hospitalized is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

Four adults were displaced from the home and are being cared for by the Red Cross.

Crews are still on the scene and are investigating the cause.

The fire caused an estimated $59,000 in damage.
