A state education team is coming to Patrick County to investigate alleged violations of special education regulations, testing irregularities and other practices.
The team is scheduled to conduct an on-site investigation Oct. 29 through Nov. 2.
The Martinsville Bulletin reports that state Superintendent of Public Instruction Patricia I. Wright notified the school system about the investigation in an Oct. 12 letter.
According to Wright's letter, the allegations raise questions about the integrity of data that the county reported to the Virginia Department of Education.
The letter states that many of the allegations involve Patrick County High School during the 2011-2012 school year.
Patrick County Schools Superintendent Roger Morris says if the district is doing something wrong, it will correct the problem.
