Tonight people are still in shock at the loss of a father and son in Franklin County. The two men were killed in a car crash on Route 220 Saturday.
Virginia State Police say Donald Conner, Junior was going the wrong way and hit another car killing Randy and Chance Taylor. Conner also died in the wreck.
Earlier Monight night a candlelight vigil was held in memory of the Taylors, at the baseball field at the Franklin County Recreation Park. The candlelight vigil was a time for family and friends to share their memories of Randy Taylor and his son Chance.
One-by-one close friends recalled memories of Randy and Chance. There were the baseball games that Randy Taylor loved so much. He was a coach and umpire for years in Franklin County.
Chance was remembered for his musical talent especially on drums. Chance's best friend told the crowd he spoke to Chance just moments before Saturday's crash. He said Chance was in a good mood and his father Randy was singing along to music on the radio. People say the crowd shows how much the Taylors meant to this community.
"These were two of the most amazing people ever they're always happy, would do anything for anybody," said a friend of the Taylors.
The crowd included members of a softball team. Randy Taylor would umpire some of their games. The team pulls to wear a white ribbon in memory of Randy and Chance for the rest of the season.
