John Grisham gave a talk in Bedford Monday morning to energize Tom Perriello's most loyal supporters, with the goal of getting them out to vote on election day.

A well known crime author is on the stump in the fifth district race for Congress.

John Grisham made a stop at the Bower Center for the Arts in Bedford Monday morning.  He was there to support Democrat Tom Perriello.

The two talked about everything from education to jobs and took a few questions from the audience.

The event was meant to be an informal conversation with some of Perriello's strongest supporters.

Grisham lives in the Charlottesville area and votes in the 5th district.

"It's my Congressional District and it's where I live," says Grisham.  "Over the years, I've been really frustrated with the representation that I was not getting in Washington."

Perriello's Republican opponent is holding an event in Danville Monday night.

Robert Hurt is at a Fish Fry with Delegates Don Merricks and Danny Marshall at the Danville Community Market.

Independent candidate Jeff Clark is also running for the fifth district seat.
