A skateboarder is dead after a crash in Patrick County.
Virginia State Police say at abou 12:30pm Friday, Maxime Benoit was riding a skateboard on Route 614. The skateboarder somehow got into the path of a Ford pickup truck and was hit.
Benoit was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Benoit was 26 years old and from Canada.
Troopers say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
