The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors may have found a loophole to keep from getting sued.
It's the Christian prayer a board member says before every meeting with the words Jesus Christ, that the American Civil Liberties Union says violates the First Amendment.
Last night the board voted to remove prayer from its by-laws.
That means the prayer wouldn't be listed as an agenda item but instead someone could make the decision on the spot to pray before the meetings start.
Local attorneys advised the Supervisors to remove this phrase to prevent a potential lawsuit.
