Here's the full press release from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office:

On Saturday, August 18, 2012, shortly after 2:00am, the Office of the Sheriff, responded to a burglary at the 619 Minute Market just South of Rocky Mount.   Soon after, burglaries were discovered at Glade Hill Minute Market and the Whistle Stop both of which are East of Rocky Mount on Old Franklin Turnpike.    While on route to investigate the burglaries, Investigator R. K. Toney and Corporal M. B. Johnson observed a suspicious vehicle in the Glade Hill area of Old Franklin Turnpike.   This vehicle then fled the Glade Hill area as the officers attempted to stop the vehicle.   The pursuit of the vehicle ended at the intersection of Canterbury Lane and Penarth Road in Roanoke City near the Franklin Road Waffle House when multiple subjects ran from the dark blue Nissan.   Officers from the Virginia State Police, Roanoke County Police Department, and Roanoke City Police assisted the Office of the Sheriff in the pursuit and search for the suspects.   Evidence at the scene of the blue Nissan appears to connect this vehicle to the three burglaries.   No arrests have been made at this time, the investigation is on-going.

The Office of the Sheriff is also investigating similar burglaries of Hubbly Bubbly Discount Tobacco and Ravens Country on August 14, 2012 along with Ole School Sports Pub and Dot’s Grocery on August 16, 2012.   Anyone with information in regard to any of these investigations is urged to contact Investigator R. K. Toney at (540) 483-3000.
