Police investigate shooting in Roanoke

Police say an argument ended with one person being shot in Roanoke.

It happened in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue.  When officers arrived, they found Shane Deray Hodnett, 29, of Roanoke with a gunshot wound.  Police determined through their investigation that the incident was the result of an argument.

No arrests have been made.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.

Roanoke Police Department Investigates Aggravated Assault

Roanoke, VA- The Roanoke Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on June 24, 2011.  Officers responded at 12:44 a.m. to a residence in the 800 block Hunt Avenue.  Upon arrival officers located the victim identified as Shane Deray Hodnett, age 29 of Roanoke, outside of the residence.  Mr. Hodnett had a gunshot wound.  Through the course of the investigation officers determined that the incident occurred in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue, outside of the residence, and according to the victim and witnesses was the result of an argument.  No arrests have been made.

The victim and witnesses did not give additional details regarding the incident.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information regarding this or other crimes should call the Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.  Crime Line may offer a monetary reward for any information leading to an arrest.
