Imagine being a child in a third world country and not having clean drinking water or a safe place to sleep.
The Blue Ridge organization Global Partners has teamed up with Rainbow Forest Baptist Church for the Proceeds for Poverty Sale.
The sale is being held at the church in Troutville and offers everything from furniture to holiday decorations.
Organizers tell WDBJ7 the event is more than your average church rummage sale and that your dollar goes a lot farther.
“It may just be like you come here and spend a dollar. But to me, I see the child that that dollar affected, that fed them and cared for them everyday and you know that's huge,” Global Partners Heidi Groom said.
The sale begins tomorrow at 9am and runs through Saturday.
Thursday on WDBJ7 Mornin' we'll give you a peek at some of the stuff for sale.
