A Lynchburg basketball player is tops in the nation for his skills on and off the court.
Colton Hunt is the winner of this year's Capital One Academic All-American award.
He's the top men's player in college basketball for Division III.
Hunt is a senior at Randolph College.
In addition to scoring an average of 25 points per game, he's also an outstanding student with a 3.9 grade-point average.
"I think it's a great recognition,” Hunt said. “It's certainly something to be proud of, but ultimately I think it's a byproduct of the people I've gotten to know and built relationships with here. The faculty, staff, coaches and other students and players."
Hunt just learned about the All-American honor at a surprise ceremony Tuesday morning.
He was chosen from more than 7,400 men's basketball players across the country.
