WYTHE CO., Va.
An annual tradition is just days away at the New River Trail State Park.
This is the 9th year of the Festival of Lights at Foster's Fall Village in Wythe County. Park workers have been busy putting up lights since before Halloween.
"It's probably one of the biggest light festivals here in the few surrounding counties. 200,000-plus lights, everything is detailed, it's real pretty," said Chief Ranger Roger Leonard.
The lights will be on all through December if you just want to walk through. This weekend, Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday Dec. 2, you can take a hayride, carriage ride, or train ride through the festival.
Or, the following weekend you can ride through in your own car. The cost is $5 a car, or you can bring 10 canned foods or one toy donation and they'll waive that fee.
Rangers tell us last year brought a record number of attendees, some 3,800 people in just two weekend nights. They hope fore more since they've added that second weekend this year.
