After nineteen hours of cleanup and closures, the latest I-81 crash was finally cleared Thursday night.
Residents, like Wes Hensley, who live nearby fear this won't be the last crash. "Through that stretch it’s downhill and there's a curve. When you're picking up the speed it seems trucks just lose control right there at that curve," explained Hensley.
Wes Hensley's house is right next to Interstate-81.
Like many of his neighbors, he says it’s noisy and congested.
Others, like Butch Aughinbaugh, say they’re making the best out of their living situation. "It’s beautiful country out here, there’s good people and if you want a good cup of coffee don’t have to go too far," said Aughinbaugh.
Butch Aughinbaugh lives near a busy corner right by the Interstate.
Instead of listening to the noise he says he drowns it out with the scenery and a positive attitude.
"Without the tractor trailers and the train coming through making noise, people wouldn't have any groceries," said Aughinbaugh.
