Imagine shopping in a store when someone who works there hands you a free gift card. That's exactly how Michael's in Roanoke celebrated a day full of Random Acts of Kindness.
The store handed out gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $25.
Store managers say every customer reacted differently when they received the gift card.
"It really feels good. I actually had one lady that was so happy she started crying on me and that makes you feel really good to do an act of kindness. And then we've seen customers that we gave gift cards to actually let customers go ahead of them in line and do other nice things for other people as well," said store manager Glenda Morris.
Across the country, the crafts store chain handed out 100-thousand dollars in gift cards.
