The inside of the Roanoke City Market building is about to get a little brighter.

Artist Lloyd Wiser has been chosen to spruce up the center of the building, where renovations are currently taking place. Four large walls stand around what used to be four empty vendors booths. Those booths are being renovated into a performance area now.

Now, Wiser is in the middle of a project to turn those walls into temporary works of art.

"The best part about this is meeting all the people and telling them about my story," Wiser said. "I meet other artists, young and old, and hopefully it's inspiring to them."

Wiser's art will be tribal-themed. He says it'll probably take him until late next week to finish it all up.

The renovations will be done in late November.
