A beautiful afternoon to be Irish, even if it was just for a day.
Thousands dressed in all shades of green crowded the streets of downtown Roanoke this afternoon for the city's annual Saint Patrick's Day parade.
Former Roanoke police officer Bryan Lawrence served as the parade's grand marshal.
Lawrence was ordained as a minister last month after being injured as a cop.
Among the groups marching in the parade was one from Your Hometown Station.
After the parade the annual Celtic Festival was held with a performance by Second Wynde.
