Roanoke pastors, clergy and activists get active to address HIV and AIDS

Every hour, it's estimated six peple are infected with H-I-V.  That means every 9.5 minutes 1 person is infected.

Pastors, clergy and other community activists in the Roanoke Valley are taking a stand and getting active to try and change those statistics.  On Thursday, they met at Roanoke's High Street Baptist Church to educate themselves before getting out in the community and educating others.

Sunday marks the start of National Week of Prayer for the Healing of Aids.

The Virginia Health Department estimates there are currently 4,500 people in the Commonwealth who've been infected with H-I-V and don't even know it.
