Roanoke police have made an arrest - a man who may be connected to the murder of a security guard.
Steve Orange was gunned down in his car earlier this month in the parking lot of at Afton Gardens Apartments where he worked.
Police arrested Gene Brown on an unrelated charge but search warrants filed today show investigators found cell phones in his motel room they believe were used to plot Orange's death.
No one has been charged in the murder.
Orange was found shot to death inside a KIA SUV. He was an armed security officer and an owner of Pro-Techt, a private security firm hired by the apartment complex. He also worked as a Roanoke police office for 11 years.
